Here's a basic recipe for a salad if you're in the mood for something cleaner and healthier. Feel free to add or subtract anything you'd like!
Ingredients:
Base (romaine lettuce, spinach, kale, arugula, etc.)
Cherry tomatoes
Avocado
Cheese (parmesan, feta, goat)
Dressing (caesar, balsamic, Italian, etc.)
Pepper
Extras: grilled chicken breast, croutons, olives, chickpeas, fruits
Make sure your base has been washed and dried. If you have a salad spinner, wash your salad, chop them into pieces if needed, and place them in the spinner to dry. If not, simply use towels to dry off the leaves.
After chopping your base into edible sizes, place it into a large bowl and add in all of the toppings of your choice. I would personally add tomatoes, olives, chickpeas, avocado, a squeeze of lemon, pepper and grilled chicken breast if I had time.
In the large bowl, lightly spread your dressing of choice on top. Start with no more than a couple of tablespoons and add more if necessary.
Mix the entire salad with two utensils so everything can blend together nicely.
Add some cheese on top and enjoy!
