Burrito Bowl

Make your own Freebirds/Chipotle style burrito bowl at home!



Ingredients:

  • Rice

  • A can of beans (black, pinto)

  • Cheese (Mexican blend, Monterey jack)

  • Veggies (bell pepper, onion, corn)

  • Lettuce

  • Avocado

  • Salsa

  • Sour cream

  • Salt & pepper

  • Any other toppings of your choice!







  1. Wash your rice by draining it through water a couple times. Then follow a 1:1 ratio for rice to water (if you are making 1 cup of rice, add 1 cup of water to the rice cooker). Then turn on your rice cooker and let it do its thing!

  2. Put your beans in a saucepan and heat on the stove for around 5 minutes to warm them up. Add salt and pepper if desired.

  3. Prep all of your toppings: cut your bell peppers, onions, avocado, and lettuce.

  4. If you need to prepare the corn, boil it for about 5 minutes and cut down the sides so the kernels are bite sized.

  5. Once the rice is cooked, spoon a fair amount into a bowl. Add your warm beans on top.

  6. Then place all of your toppings in as you would like: sprinkle your cheese, veggies, salsas, and sour cream on top, season if needed, and then you have a delicious meal!
